Tattooing has always been a huge part of my life, even before starting to do it as a profession I was obsessed with, what was at that time, still considered to be counter culture. The ability to permanently adorn yourself with any type of wizard or dragon seemed like just about the coolest thing you could do as a kid, especially when it seemed so foreign to myself growing up in the rural mountains of Colorado.
I started drawing designs, copying from magazines and comic books, even selling them at school. There weren't many tattoo studios around, and even less people with any visible work. Definitely seemed like not only a hard way to make a living, but even harder to get a start. It wasn't until I moved to Denver for my BFA that I really was exposed to the full scope of the scene, and really saw what was possible. Some of the artwork in the early 2000s was mind blowing and a step away from the mainly biker/fantasy dominated images I was more used to seeing at the time.
It was shortly after I had graduated in 2005, that I realized a more formal art profession wasn't a good fit, and was able to get a foot in the door of a small tattoo shop in Lakewood for my apprenticeship. Since then I have worked throughout the Denver metro area, constantly trying to refine and push my work to the next level.
I have done a wide variety of styles through the years but prefer to focus mainly on American Traditional, Japanese, floral motifs, and Black and Grey as I have seen these styles hold up best over time. I hope I have the opportunity to make your next piece not only one that will stand the test of time, but one you can truly be fully satisfied with.
I offer free consultations if you'd like to discuss your idea, otherwise I tattoo by appointment or by chance Wednesday through Saturday. Please reach out via email:
